House Update

I think back in October I said that we were trying to sell our house. When I posted I showed a picture of the house we wanted. Things changed and we didn't sell. Then we got a call that some people down the street from us wanted to buy our house. They are in one of the smaller houses and wanted a larger one. We set out on a house hunt. We went and looked at the one I had posted about before and kept it on the list. Then we looked some new ones. We decided that the original house we wanted was just too far away. We decided to stay in town. We are going to move into a smaller house. I know crazy! Doing this will help us meet siome of the goals we have. We also think it's a smart thing to do in these crazy economic times. We started to clean and organize everything over the weekend. I had a few crying moments as we got rid of things. Nothing huge just things that need to go. A baby/infant sled that we got Madison when she was little for her first snow. I've got pictures of her in it and it's just time. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. We will be moving from 2400 sq. ft. into 1600 sq ft. I'll be sure to share pics on how we do this. Our lot size will now double and that we are excited about. I thought I'd post a picture of our old house and two of our new house.

Themed Thursday

Today I join Southern Whimsy for Themed Thursday. The theme is Furry Friends Real or Faux. I grew up in the country with pets all over living outside. I was NEVER going to allow a pet in my house. The idea just grossed me out. I have germ issues. This summer we met this little guy and my heart just melted. I had to forget about my germ issues. Baxter is our Real Furry Friend.
The only Faux Friend I decorate with right now are roosters. I just LOVE them and all the colors they have are just GREAT. I think the next animal I would like to add to my collection would be frogs.

I love this picture. I found it at my neighbors garage sale.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my real or faux furry friend.

Taylor & Ashley

I just wanted to share a couple pictures from their wedding. Don't you just love the red shoes? They are so darn cute! They remind me of the movie 'Wizard of Oz'.

Happy Groundhog Day!!!!

Groundhog Day is a BIG day for our family. When Sydney went to kindergarten her teacher was a HUGE Phil fan. She passed on that love of Phil to all the kids. So today if I feel better we will head to Raleigh to see Sir Walter Wally. Happy Groundhog Day!!!!!

Themed Thursday

Today I joined in my first blog even with http://southernwhimsy.blogspot.com/ for Themed Thursday. Today the theme was blue transferware . I LOVE my dishes.
My vase I got after we were married 11 years ago. The plate came from my Mom's China Cabinet and it is a favorite. I'm not sure what to call the smaller piece. The lid comes off and as of right now in this house I sometimes find a random toy. Don't they know they aren't to touch my dishes.

Another plate I just love. I love to decorate with plates.

I keep this cute little kettle on table in a little group. That is my little collection and I hope to someday make it larger. Thanks for stopping by.

Snow

The girls had some yummy warm hot chocolate after they came inside. They had so much fun. They got to use our neighbors sled and that was a fun first for them and the neighbors little girl. None of them would go down the hill they were all afraid. I found that very funny since I grew up in New York State and went down some HUGE hills as a child. FYI this was a tiny little hill. I finally got Madison to go down and then she talked Sydney into going. Our little neighbor girl still wouldn't go. Her Daddy came and put her on the sled and gave it a little push. I believe we got 7 inches when we last measured with the ruler. If your wondering homeschooled kids don't get snow days. I want to be done by mid May.

J-E-L-L-O

We are in the kitchen at lunch time and this is what took place.

Sydney: Mommy I made my own juice.

Mommy: How?

Sydney: I take the jello and swish it in my mouth and spit it out in a cup.

Mommy: Oh really. Interesting.

Sydney: See I made this the other night when you were gone a whole cup of juice. I put it in the fridge to get fresh.

Mommy: Wow. Did Daddy know you made this?

Sydney: No.

Mommy: Okay glad you like it.

Yep I let her drink her fresh juice. I know gross.

What???????

This afternoon I was trying to get out of the house for a meeting and got a call for a showing of the house. They wanted to be here in 25 min. WHAT!!!!!????? The girls had just gotten out of the tub and we needed to work FAST! We came up with 2 shortcuts.

I had a sink frull of dirty dishes and a dishwasher full of clean and they would be at our house in 3 minutes. What to do??? We got plastic bags and filled them with dirty dishes and brought them with us. Yep we did.
I had also been doing laundry and had a pile of dirty clothes on the floor and a pile of clean towels on top of the dryer. The dryer had clean clothes in it and the washer had a rug I had just washed. Here it is 10 pm and I go in to see how my little helpers did in there today. When I looked in there before the showing the only thing I knew was everything was gone. They know how to get ready for a showing and hide everything. They had stuffed all the dirty clothes and clean towels in with the freshly cleaned rug. I guess tomorrow I'll have some stuff to wash again.
Now we'll just wait and see if they even want the house. I did make it to the meeting. It was a homeschool meeting for our co-op and we all got the classes we wanted. I will be teaching a class with my friend 'Across The USA In A Chevrolet'. There was way too much crazy in this day.

Locks of Love

Madison donated her hair today to Locks of Love. She had been growing it for about a year. This is her first real styled cut. I think she looked so cute. It hit Daddy hard when he saw it but now he loves it. Madison LOVES her new cut.

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
