Funny Face

Tonight the girls and I had a little too much fun with the camera. Tom was gone for Coach training (soccer). We had so much fun and laughed so hard. I think I might frame them in those multi picture frames for them.

A few posts ago I gave you information on a Mother with CF and her tiny new baby girl. Another blogger listed many special first that you take for granted that Tricia the mom hasn't experienced yet. She gave us a challenge:

I can't wait for you to experience every one of these moments and so many more because this is what it means to be a mommy...and every moment is glorious in its own special way.

My Challenge to all your blogging mommies...

If you are reading this and you are a mommy, I encourage you (for fun) to do something like this for Tricia on your blog. Tell her all the special, frustrating, wonderful moments that you hope she gets to experience just because she's a mommy now too.

Here I go with just a few. There are so many first I could mention they go on for years (hug, booboo, I love you, touch, food spit out on you, temper tantrum, dress being pulled up over the head when up on stage, no more training wheels,ect.). I get to spend many days with my girls but there is something about night time that brings out the sillies and cuddles. I hope for you a night of sillies and cuddles with funny pics.

Grandma Strunk Has Been Busy

My Mom sent the girls some clothes for the American Girl Dolls. They just came today and they have been VERY busy. My mom sent doubles of each outfit. Yeah no need to share. Sydney: "Grandma Strunk is a famous sewer person isn't she?"

Cha Cha Cha Chia

Tom took some pics of Sydney while I was at work the other day. On Groundhog Day the girls went to a museum in Raleigh. Syd made a Chia Pet type Groundhog. It was made with a sock. You just put dirt and seeds in the sock and put it in a plastic bag. Add a little water and sun and watch it grow. It already needs another grass trim.

Arrrrrr Matey

Today was Pirate Day for the 2nd Grade. I got to spend the morning with half of Madison's class. It was a fun morning with lots of games. Second grade boys are a lot of work. I was even in a 3 legged race with one of the boys and hurt my back. I had to go see the nurse and get some motrin. The girls are now going to be off for Spring Break (2 wks.) I think we'll be doing lots of crafts, reading and playing at the park. We went to the library and got some books. I'm also working at the preschool and the girls are going to come and help. I just couldn't pick one picture so there are many.

Drought

I thought I'd share a picture from our drought here in North Carolina. The picture is of our dryed up lake. I guess I won't be abe to share any boating pictures this summer. Our town started buying our water from another county a few weeks ago. We got some storms yesterday and they said it gave up about a foot of rain.

Cinderella

I just wanted to share this song.

Cinderella
by Steven Curtis Chapman

She spins and she sways
To whatever song plays
Without a care in the world
And I'm sitting here wearing
The weight of the world on my shoulders

It's been a long day
And there's still work to do
She's pulling at me
Saying "Dad, I need you

There's a ball at the castle
And I've been invited
And I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone...

She says he's a nice guy and I'd be impressed
She wants to know if I approve of the dress
She says, "Dad, the prom is just one week away
And I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone

She will be gone

Well, she came home today with a ring on her hand
Just glowing and telling us all they had planned
She says, "Dad, the wedding's still six months away
But I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone

Happy Valentines Day

I hope you all had a GREAT day. Sydney made me a card and Madison sang a song to me. They told each other how much they loved each other and made little cards. Thomas brought home take-out. There is so much love going on in this house we need a hose to put the fire out. I told the girls that when it was bedtime. They were still lovin' all over each other. Happy Valentines Day.

Happy Groundhog Day

Phil made his big call today six more weeks of winter. Phil is Sydney's stuffed class pet at school. Sydney is such a big fan now that Santa brought her a Phil for Christmas. This morning she and I went to the Phil website and watched it live. Today we are going to Raleigh to see Sir Walter Wally the groundhog. The word is he's going to see his shadow too. Sydney took her Phil out this morning and he said it's going to spring.

100 Things Going On

Ahhhhh. Everyone just left for school and work. I actually have a day off. I've been working like a crazy person. Lastnight I worked on and finished our taxes. All I can say this year is wooooooohoooooooo! I've also been looking at tons of books for homeschooling and different blogs. What did we do before blogs. I have no idea who most of these people are but they have GREAT homeschools. Sydney had a 100 Day Celebration at school. During the celebration the 3 classes shared a little too much love. Our family has stayed healthy so far. Yesterday Syd only had 5 kids in her class and the other 2 classes were just as low in number. I'm going to meet Madi for lunch today and I told her we are going to eat in the car. A few days ago the school had an open house for new students. Sydney did such a great job on her workbook we were asked to send it back in for the open house. This school has VERY high expectations. I'm VERY proud of her. The girls have been very busy playing Webkinz on the computer. Tonight were going to see a FREE play at our new Cultural Center. This weekend we'll be cheering on the Patriots and trying out a new Rachael Ray recipe. The girls have soccer evaluations in a week. Tons of stuff going on. I hope you all have a great weekend!

SNOW.....and the South goes crazy!!!!!

I had to work at Lowes today from 8 am until 5 pm. It was just crazy. When you walked out of the store you could hear sirens going off responding to accidents. People wanted to buy sleds, salt, shovels, boots and heaters. I did have one guy come in and buy tools for planting bulbs. He told me it was a great job for today. The food stores were just as insane (milk and bread gone). Madison spent a little time out in the snow. I just hope they have the roads clear tomorrow morning. I've got work. All churches have canceled services tomorrow. I'm sure it makes you all laugh in the North that see the amount of snow in the pics.

Homeschool Family

You read it right. Next year we'll be a homeschool family. I know I'm very behind on the blog. I've been working 2 jobs and all weekend. I've been substitute teaching at the girls old preschool and working at Lowes hardware. Just wanted to give you all an update on our family.

American Girl Doll Store Chicago

We are back from Chicago. This was one of the things we did while there. My mom got them Bitty Baby dolls for Christmas. We hit the big city and got some outfits. The girls are standing next to the outfits they chose and cute Christmas tree in the store. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
