Cinderella

I just wanted to share this song.

Cinderella
by Steven Curtis Chapman

She spins and she sways
To whatever song plays
Without a care in the world
And I'm sitting here wearing
The weight of the world on my shoulders

It's been a long day
And there's still work to do
She's pulling at me
Saying "Dad, I need you

There's a ball at the castle
And I've been invited
And I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone...

She says he's a nice guy and I'd be impressed
She wants to know if I approve of the dress
She says, "Dad, the prom is just one week away
And I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone

She will be gone

Well, she came home today with a ring on her hand
Just glowing and telling us all they had planned
She says, "Dad, the wedding's still six months away
But I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"

So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone

Today the girls and I were going to have a Tea Party for lunch. They wanted Daddy to come to the tea party. He came home from work for lunch and had tea with us. They LOVE tea parties. They helped me make everything and Madison made place cards. I hope you all had a wonderful day off. Poor Thomas had to work.

Happy Valentines Day

I hope you all had a GREAT day. Sydney made me a card and Madison sang a song to me. They told each other how much they loved each other and made little cards. Thomas brought home take-out. There is so much love going on in this house we need a hose to put the fire out. I told the girls that when it was bedtime. They were still lovin' all over each other. Happy Valentines Day.

Happy Groundhog Day

Phil made his big call today six more weeks of winter. Phil is Sydney's stuffed class pet at school. Sydney is such a big fan now that Santa brought her a Phil for Christmas. This morning she and I went to the Phil website and watched it live. Today we are going to Raleigh to see Sir Walter Wally the groundhog. The word is he's going to see his shadow too. Sydney took her Phil out this morning and he said it's going to spring.

100 Things Going On

Ahhhhh. Everyone just left for school and work. I actually have a day off. I've been working like a crazy person. Lastnight I worked on and finished our taxes. All I can say this year is wooooooohoooooooo! I've also been looking at tons of books for homeschooling and different blogs. What did we do before blogs. I have no idea who most of these people are but they have GREAT homeschools. Sydney had a 100 Day Celebration at school. During the celebration the 3 classes shared a little too much love. Our family has stayed healthy so far. Yesterday Syd only had 5 kids in her class and the other 2 classes were just as low in number. I'm going to meet Madi for lunch today and I told her we are going to eat in the car. A few days ago the school had an open house for new students. Sydney did such a great job on her workbook we were asked to send it back in for the open house. This school has VERY high expectations. I'm VERY proud of her. The girls have been very busy playing Webkinz on the computer. Tonight were going to see a FREE play at our new Cultural Center. This weekend we'll be cheering on the Patriots and trying out a new Rachael Ray recipe. The girls have soccer evaluations in a week. Tons of stuff going on. I hope you all have a great weekend!

SNOW.....and the South goes crazy!!!!!

I had to work at Lowes today from 8 am until 5 pm. It was just crazy. When you walked out of the store you could hear sirens going off responding to accidents. People wanted to buy sleds, salt, shovels, boots and heaters. I did have one guy come in and buy tools for planting bulbs. He told me it was a great job for today. The food stores were just as insane (milk and bread gone). Madison spent a little time out in the snow. I just hope they have the roads clear tomorrow morning. I've got work. All churches have canceled services tomorrow. I'm sure it makes you all laugh in the North that see the amount of snow in the pics.

He Knows If You've Been Good or BAD.

As you can see someone in our house is being naughty. I was in the other room and heard all this yelling. I go in and she is in a fit over some missing orange seeds. She said that she was going to plant them in the spring.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Some big changes are going to come to our family VERY soon. I have 3 days left watching kids out of my house and I will be done. Some of you know about the good, bad and ugly of it. I may already have a new job lined up. If I get it I'll post some more about it. It will still be a job with kids only out of the house. It will also be something I've never done before. I am a tad nervous. The good thing about it is that the girls can be with me on the days they don't have school. I'll let you all know when I find out. I don't have a pic to go with this post so I thought I'd put one up of the girls taken this summer.

Holly Springs Christmas Parade

Today we headed out to our town Christmas Parade. We walked into town with our wagon full of chairs and no jackets. That is right no jackets. It was in the 70's today. The pics I took of Tom and Madi didn't come out. These are just some pics of Syd and the girls favorite things of the parade.

A dance group they liked.
Sydney enjoying the parade from the seat of the wagon.
Sydney with the Grinch.
The girls wanted a pic of the new truck. Our tax dollars hard at work.
These guys are our favorite every year. They chase around a guy in a prison suit on these little bikes. We even got one to pose with us down below.

One last dance group.
Merry Christmas !

Historic Yates Mill

Sorry for the lack of posts. Our camera hasn't been working. Thus the reason for no Thanksgiving pics. I know how sad 8( . Today we took the girls to Historic Yates Mill built in 1756. Thomas and I went a few weeks ago when my sister kept the kids. In a couple weeks were going to go back and see the mill working. On the third weekend of the month they have people in costume. You get to go back in time. They also have a museum. The girls had a great time and as you'll see they also took pics today along the trail.

Thanksgiving A Time To Remember

I just wanted to share a great book I got us this year to help with our Thanksgiving celebration. I love Thanksgiving. I've read the book twice to the girls and we've listend to the audio in the car. At first I didn't think they would be very into it but they actually asked to listen and read it. I hope your families have a Blessed Thanksgiving!

Our country was founded on the courage of a group of men and women who sought a better life for themselves. With all the hardships their travels produced, they still praised and thanked God.
So enjoy your dinner, but also inspire that same heart of gratitude by creating new traditions and memories with family and friends this Thanksgiving.

Tour of Downtown Cary, North Carolina

Sydney's class at the Once In A Blue Moon Bakery. We love this place they have the best treats.
The whole class in the walk-in refrigerator. Sydney has been waiting to go in this since Madi did it with her class 2 years ago. Later in the day I asked her if she had fun going back into the kitchen. Her reply was "where was the walking refrigerator?" For 2 years she thought she was going to see a walking refrigerator not a walk-in.
They visited Town Hall and got to see some of the things the Mayor does.
We saw many things that day to learn about the town. We went to the library and read a book about a little town. It's funny and sad how things have changed to little Historic Downtown areas.
