The Princess Takes To The Water

The girls were a little under the weather for July 4th. The day before we took them to the Dr. and she said they had a viral thing. She gave us the go ahead to go out on the boat. I asked her if I would be a bad mom if I took them out and she said No. We were on the boat for 7 fun hours. Princess Madison finally went on the tube and had a great time. Crazy girl Syd was on the tube once again yelling faster, faster. The big finale to our night was our neighbor behind us shooting fireworks onto our roof. We are under a severe drought. Tom asked them to please stop. With that they shot another one up there. That is when I called 911. Then the police came and dealt with it. Happy Fourth of July grrrr. We didn't know those neighbors before and now we for sure don't want to know them. I don't need to be friends with someone trying to set my house on fire.

Happy Birthday America!!!!

If tomorrow all the things were gone I’d worked for all my life,And I had to start again with just my children and my wife.I’d thank my lucky stars to be living here today,‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away. And I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free. And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee, across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA,Well, there’s pride in every American heart, and it’s time to stand and say:I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free. And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.God Bless The U.S.A. Everything Old Is New Again

When my mom came down for a visit back in May she brought a shirt my Grandma had made for me when I was little. Sydney got to wear it to night church yesterday.

Concert At Church

We go to Colonial Baptist Church in Cary. It's a church of about 4,000. During the summer our Pastor takes a little break and we have special speakers or music. Keith and Kristyn Getty sang at our church last evening. It was soooo good. I've been listening to the CD we bought all morning. The kids stayed in the service with us and behaved. We got to church early and got our seats. While waiting for the concert who should come sit next to us but our Pastor and his family. He sat right next to Sydney. Sometimes Sydney has behavior issues. Since we changed her diet she has gotten a LOT better. I whispered to her and said you better behave the Pastor is next to you. She wanted to know why he wasn't up front where he belonged. She did a great job and we were able to enjoy the concert.

Bridge to Terabithia

Madison and I just finished watching this movie and it was so good. Madison is 7 and she really liked it. It didn't really keep Sydney's attention. I didn't realize until after we watched it that there is a book. Now Madison wants to go borrow it from the library.

Tom's Finished Job

Here is the finished table. Isn't it beautiful. Good job Thomas!

Madi The Gun Krause

Madi also played her last game today. She has really done a great job. She has gotten to play goalie and did great. Her foot is a gun. She can kick that ball clear across the field. She loves soccer but is also glad it is over. She said she is ready to get back to her ice skate lessons.

Syd's Final Soccer Game

Today Sydney played in her final soccer game. We're both sad and glad. It is a big commitment. Tom has been her coach. On monday night we will have the awards program. A few weeks ago Sydney had gotten really sick and put in the hospital. They thought maybe she got bit by a tic but they were not sure. Today all the parents joked that she got bit by the soccer bug. She has become quite a power house. This is her first year playing and she has got great speed and control. Go Syd!

Tom On The Job

This mornign Thomas coach Sydney's soccer game. Then he went to a garden glass about water features in your garden. Now he is out in the back painting and staining our new table. Here is a picture of our chairs we painted and recovered. The material on the chairs is what my mom used to make my valance. I'll try to get a picture of that posted. Tom has been a busy boy. I'll post some pictures when the table is done. We'll try to let him rest tomorrow.

More pictures from the lake

Sydney and I decided to go on the tube together. Tom didn't get the picture but just as the boat took off we flipped out. Syd kept saying "why did you drown us." :(
I went on alone and had a great time.
Sydney the brave girls also did it alone. Tom wasn't so sure about this. I told him she would be fine. She loved it. He was a wreck all day.
My sister Ruth.
Tom wasn't going to go on the tube and then we talked him into it. At the end of the day he said his favorite thing was the tube.

I've Been Tagged.

My GREAT friend Melonie from college tagged me. I have to list 7 random things about myself that you might not know about me. I'm suppose to tag 7 people. The only problem is as of now I only know 2 people who blog. I have family and friends who look at mine.

1. I would really love to do FBI type PI work. I think I'd liked to focus in on cheating husbands. (I know very different than the college days of Early Childhood classes.)

2. I've had what I call my bad toe. Back in '95 I had 2 toes operated on. My big toe that was never operated on got an infection. It has taken 11 years for a doctor to figure out what was wrong with it. I had gone to many doctors. Finally my doctor down here did a lot of tests and found out I had a staph infection. ELEVEN YEARS. Now I have a good toe.

3. I am fascinated with the Amish way of life. I would love to give it a try. I loved going to my Aunt and Uncles house when I was little and see them drive by. I've been reading books about the Amish the last 6 months.

4. Thomas and I met on a blind date January '97. (Engaged July '97 and Married Nov. '97)

5. I was adopted. They already had 4 grown children all girls. One of my sisters is exactly 20 years older than me to the day.

6. I've been thinking about homeschooling the girls. I have some books on hold at the library. I hope not soon but I am reading up on it.

7. We just recently sold our house and then bought a house on the same street. That wasn't planned.

I hope you enjoyed.

Mom what's this flower????

Okay Mom here is the flower. If you need a better picture let me know.

Today Aunt Ruthie and Uncle Michael took us out on the boat. What GREAT fun!!! Sorry, Michael we realized when we got home we didn't get any pictures of you our driver. Thank you for a great day. Madison wasn't a big of the lake. Sydney couldn't get enough. Madison said she would rather sit at the front of the boat being fancy drinking her juice box and talking on a cell phone. Is she 7 or 17 hmmmm. Thanks again for a great day Ruth and Mike.

Busy Day and Showing Off New Clothes

Today I'm getting the house ready for a Girls Night Out Movie Night. I'm renting the movie Music and Lyrics. Now that we're in the big house we wanted to more entertaining. I mowed the front lawn this morning and cleaned the floors. Since I had been working so hard we decided to take a break and dress up. My mom was here visiting back in April and May. While she was here she did some sewing. I got a new valance for my kitchen and the girls each got an outfit. We just had a little photo shoot outside. Now I've got to get back to cleaning and get some lunch made. The most important thing today is to make some CHOCOLATE BROWNIES for the movie night.

Sea Saver Account

We've had packed day and it still isn't over. We started off at the pool at 9 am and then headed off to the library. The little girls that I watch left early woooohooooo. So we headed off to Target and then the Bank. Sydney had gotten several checks for her b-day and we started a Sea Savers account. At our bank they get a kids accountand give thema fish bank and a book to track the money. She is so proud. We had to stop by and show Daddy at work. Now I'm off to make dinner. Then it's off to soccer practice. It's been a busy but good day.

Traveler

Thomas and I don't always agree on TV programs. There is this new show called Taveler and we're hooked. It's one of those shows you can't miss or you'll be totally lost. Wednesday night will be the third episode and we'll be glued to the tube. If you didn't catch it when it started you can watch on your computer on ABC. We LOVE it.

Sydney the Bug and and Frog Room

Sydney also wanted to get posted. We painted her room a few weeks ago. Today I got some of her things hung up. She also still needs a chair rail put up. After the chair rail goes up I'll stamp some frogs along it. Once we get everything done we'll repost.

Madison the Beach Girl

Here are some pictures of the beach room for Madison. We finished painting and put up her decorations. All that is left now is to put up chair rail and get her a new frame for the bed. She said she is even going to try and keep it this clean. Grandma Krause would be so proud. :)
