Cow Appreciation Day

Today is Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-a. If you dress as a cow you get a free meal. It has been a crazy day. I was going to get pictures at chick-fil-a and didn't have my camera. I forgot the camera because when I was backing out of the garage I hit the seed spreader. Now my van has a great scratch down the side and it bent the garage door frame. I coudln't get the garage door to shut (grrr). I had to go get Tom from work to see if he could fix the door. I had to go get him because we only have one car right now. He was able to bend the frame back and it works for now. It was just crazy. We made it and got our free food.

Weighing in at.........

I joined this blog challenge to lose weight. One of the things you had to do to join was take a picture of your scale while you are standing on it and post it to your blog. Um yeah.....I don't think so. We were also able to email her the picture so tht is was I chose to do. I thought I should also do a scale picture too. I covered up the weight with a tag that was laying on the counter. We joined the YMCA about a week ago and I already lost 2 lbs. since my last weigh in. The challenge ends in Sept. I guess we'll see how I do. Come join the fun.

Sydney LOVES birds and bugs. She wanted a bluejay cake and so we decided on a tree cake with a bird in it. We found these cute little balloon birds at Walmart....love them!!!! Her real b-day is May 31. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SYDNEY!!!!!!

New Furniture

We've been busy around here. I painted furniture with the girls over the weekend. I didn't let them paint the black on though. The dresser was mine since I was a little girl and the desk had belonged to my SIL. There is also a chair that goes with the desk and I'm not done with that yet. We think it all came out GREAT!

Catch that bunny!!!!!!!

The other day I bought some flowers to plant and left them in the garage for the night. The next morning we went out and one of the plants had been eaten. Then the next day the other plants had been eaten also. We didn't know what was eating the flowers. One afternoon the girls and I were going out to take a meal to someone and there was the culprit in the garage a baby bunny. We put a bowl of water in the garage along with some veggies. We didn't want it to die when we found out it was a cute little baby bunny. When saturday came along it was time to catch that bunny. We finally caught him and then spent time lovin' on him with gloves on our hand. Of course it was sad for the little ladies not to be able to keep him. I asked them if this was the best thing that had ever happend in their life and they said "YES!"

Garden Girls

The other day the girls and I went shopping for some flowers to plant. They got to buy their own tools and gloves for the job. I marked the places where they needed to plant the flowers with forks. They thought that was funny and we had a great time.

Awana Bible Character

The girls go to Awana every Sunday night. (church thing) The other night you had to dress up as your favorite Bible Character. Sydney Ruth went as Ruth and Madison was Eve. Madison even won for best costume.

How does your garden grow......?

Today we started our seeds for our garden. Last summer we tried the garden in buckets and evereything died. :( Now that we have a bigger yard we are going to do a real garden. :) We are planting: cucumbers, jelly bean tomatoes, green beans, Big Boy tomatoes, pumpkins, red & green peppers and peas. We'll keep you updated on how it goes. I hope we have veggies out our ears this summer. Do you like my kitchen wall color? It's called Peanut Butter.

Eggs!!!

We had some fun tonight coloring eggs. The girls wanted to glitter colored eggs. We bought the kit to glitter your eggs. We got thru 2 eggs and they hated it. YES!!! I hate glitter. One of my friends on facebook said she tye dyed eggs today with her boys. When the glitter bombed I thought we would give it a try. We colored our eggs and let them dry a little. Then we added oil to the colored water and dunked those eggs again.

Little Bakers

Today I let the girls make cookies. You may have heard screaming come from the house if you walked by. Ha! They both made their own full recipe. Madison made chocolate chip and Sydney made oatmeal raisin chocolate chip. Oh my gosh did they make a mess!!!!! I just kept saying your making such a big mess (over and over and over........again.) They told me that means they will be great cooks because Grandma Strunk is messy. LOL!!!! Anyone who knows my Mom knows she can cook......but.......the clean up is.......there are no words. If your reading this Mom we love you and your cooking and the girls think they will be good cooks just like you.
